cause I had a few international contacts to other Mappers I’m always suprised how different mapping can be. So I got the idea of creating a series similar to the Project of the week. Let me say I don’t expect anything but hope it might be a good way to get the OSM community together. I create a small intro/example at: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:!i!/How_do_you_map_in_XYZ
So is anybody interested in presenting the way OSM works in Russia?
It is very interesting area for me but I am quite new to the project. I believe that should not be a big gap between styles in different countries though each community might have its own specifics. So I vote to participate in such activities but I cannot present anything serious since I am only beginner…
Hi, well to me there seem to be this little nitty gritty differences where you think “oooookkkk?!?”
Would you please ask on the russian mailinglist for somebody or translate a entry of older mappers?
It’d be a pleasure to write something like that, but not right now. Maybe later this month. Mapping in Russia is in growing state, so things will change really fast in near future.
During a field mapping around 100 km to the south from Moscow I was nearly attacked by a small boar. Fortunately no physical contact occured between us.
Recently, for Christmas, we went in a monastery by the Chusovaja river. The family has visited a local temple, and I took GPS-logger and with the camera have visited monastery territory. Having come back home has adhered pictures to the written down track and has plotted a monastery.
During circulations on a monastery to me a certain eremite has addressed. He lived near to the sacred source which is settling down on distance of 5 kilometers from a monastery. The eremite has taken an interest - whether I am going to go behind holy water. I, certainly, was going to go. Then the eremite has asked to bring up it
The trip was remembered by road and stories of the fellow traveler. The road, mostly, represented the arable land a bit cleaned from snow (in the middle of a snow-covered field has few times passed the bulldozer that people could reach a St. source on the Christening holiday). The eremite has told that it left once to a source in the morning, and has met there “owner”. A bear that is. The eremite has told that they have stood, have looked against each other. Then the eremite has said not charitable word from surprise. The bear was developed and has left
Unfortunatly I can only understand a few posts but it seems so that some of you would be interested in this topic. Great! It’s not a timecritical project, so if you like write a text together. Till then I will setup a dedicated wikipage structure like for the Project Of The Week.
