Drinking Fountains
Hi all. Is there an initiative to start mapping public drinking fountains or water bottle refill stations in OSM?
I see there is a tag for this: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag … g_fountain, but I couldn't see them within OSM data for the areas I downloaded?
For example, I can see there's a drinking water fountain in this park (google street view link below), but couldn't see if it's mapped on OSM?

Re: Drinking Fountains
I checked in the data layer and it is not mapped yet. Take a look at the numbers under "taginfo" on the wiki-page. This feature has been mapped 487 times on the whole planet... https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag … king_water has much more entries (234k).

Re: Drinking Fountains
Thank you PHerison. That's interesting to know. Looks like there may be quite a few different ways of tagging the same object. Either way, I don't think these are mapped and I may need to kick-start the initiative!
If anyone knows of any open source datasets related to drinking water fountains please let me know. I thought that these would be an easy find due to the rise in people opting to use less single-use plastic and re-filling water bottles.
