Hello everyone,
as some of you maybe noticed, Apple Maps recently started to use maps from OpenStreetMap. Even better, they show the map data based on the device’s language settings, so if the street name exists on the language that is set on your device, it will be displayed accordingly. This also helps at navigation, where TTS had a real trouble reading out street names from another language.
Also, many apps use Apple Maps, like PlugShare for ex.
I was looking at some charging stations in Oradea and I noticed something very interesting: str. Brasovului in Oradea is translated to Hungarian as Gömbös Gyula utca, right next to this street is str. Republicii, Hungarian translation is Fő utca (Main street), german is König-Ferdinand-Straße. I guess these are some historical names, from over a 100 years ago or something, but this is not the official, real names of these streets. For someone not from Oradea this can be very confusing.
