Organised Editing/Activities/resolve linting issues in France

Hello from the Mapbox Team!

As part of on-going work to improve the quality of OpenStreetMap data, we recently used osmlint-osmium (https://github.com/osmlab/osmlint-osmium) and osmlint (https://github.com/osmlab/osmlint) for detecting issues related to road network data in France. In total, there were 45,808 issues detected across 11 types of linters.

As a next step, our team (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map … am_members) is planning to review a subset of the detections to better understand the type of issues, and also fix any valid data issues directly in the OSM. You can read more about our plan in OSM Wiki here (https://github.com/mapbox/mapping/issues/365) and Github ticket. Our page in OSM Wiki https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Org … _in_France
We are starting this week. We would really appreciate your feedback, any questions you have about this project, as well as local insights that you think will help us better understand the data.

Cheers,

Member of Mapbox team, Vlada

Re: Organised Editing/Activities/resolve linting issues in France

I'm not from France, but please keep in mind the French OSM community has a separate forum hosted elsewhere: https://forum.openstreetmap.fr/
or talk-fr@openstreetmap.org mailing list.

Please take your time to do research in every community you try to reach and do not proceed if there's no response - if so, you're probably using the wrong channel.

Thanks a lot for your advice! I wrote to the talk-fr@openstreetmap.org mailing list and already have an answer.

Glad to hear everything went fine.
But I do understand the struggle, the contact channels are needlessly fragmented.
