Population of towns and villages

Hello,

The statistics of the internal federal public service publish each year the population for each municipality of Belgium but do not give the details for the cities and villages which compose it. Is there another more detailed source? How else to indicate the population of a municipality in openstreetmap?

Thanks for your help smile

Re: Population of towns and villages

Hi Lolou,
Statbel also publishes a dataset on the level of the statistical sectors. These can be used to aggregate to anything that follows their borders. Here's a csv that attempts to build part-municipalities.
The issue is that part-municipalities officially do not exist, so there is no one dataset of where their borders are supposed to be. Some of the borders do not coincide with statistical sectors though.

Re: Population of towns and villages

Thank you for your answer!

I didn't know Statbel, they have a lot of data! Concerning the populations, I suppose that it is preferable not to indicate the populations of the villages?
