wambachers-osm.website down ?

Hi,

Since Wednesday, I try to access https://wambachers-osm.website/boundaries/

No luck, it seems it is down.

Any idea what’s going on ?

Thanks a lot,
François

Looks like he is not able to maintain the website currently. We all hope it comes back …

This was announced on OSM Weekly. They do not have the time to maintain the boundary server. I think the hope is that someone may take it on.

Is there any possible instructions on how to set up this tool? Is there an open source codebase? I’d be happy to contribute hosting it, but I’d need some help for that.

The thread is getting to age now, but I would like to present a workaround. I have myself been using Walter’s site and it was an issue for me when it was shut down.

I have therefore been working on a replacement/substitute. It’s still a work in progress and it might even be too early for too much feedback. But it’s available online and it is possible to browse and download polygon data.

It’s currently the development environment that’s available online, so there might be issues at times. If I notice that others starts using the site I will prioritize splitting Dev and Live.

@Magnus Månsson: Thanks for the service!

Thank you Magnus for creating and improving your tool-site about boundaries. Looking forward for more.
(I’m more interested in suburbs/neighborhoods boundaries, I hope we will see that feature at some point
