Time Travel
Ahoi!
While regarding old citymaps of my hometown, i had the idea of making a timelapse of it:
There are much more or less accurate maps in the most countries - at least in the 20th century.
Is there any posibility of doing something similar in OSM?
Is there any similar project, that has already started?
Greetings from Leipzig

Re: Time Travel
Overpass Turbo has an example you can load - "Attic date query".
If you have a pipeline ready that can render *.osm files then osmium command line tool can process full history files - like the ones per-country from geofabrik.de

There's a sub forum in German available, in case you missed it.

I don't really know what the OP wants to achieve. OSM does not have any data on how the world looked like back in 1920.
Even the attic date query will only tell you how the OpenStreetMap database looked like back then (that's only up to September 2012).

No, i meant something like this
https://earthengine.google.com/timelapse/
But made by users.

With a timeline, you may choose the year and fill the map.
