Follow a hashtag

Hey guys, does anyone know if it's possible to follow project hashtags? Thanks!

Re: Follow a hashtag

If you don't want to write something yourself, your best bet is probably one of the analysis tools at https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/ or one of the other sites there, or alternatively https://osmcha.mapbox.com which allows you to filter recent changesets in various ways.

Hashtags are just text - depending on the editor that the mapper was using, they will appear in either a changeset's "comment" field or a separate "hashtags" field.  See https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/71492262 for an example changeset .

Personally, I'd much prefer people put useful comments in changeset text rather than hashtags - the only human readable text in that randomly-chosen example is "Buildings in", the hashtags are basically useless - there's no way to get from "#hotosm-project-XYZ" to a project page that describes what the project is about, who is organising it or what the goals are.  This is absolutely not the fault of the project mappers here - they're just doing what they've been told to do by the people organising the mapping project that they're taking part in.
