Salame road name tag

Salame road in Tel Aviv Jaffa is named Shalma (שלמה) on official maps, but all locals call it Salame (סלמה). What should be the name tag in cases like this? should name be the official name set by the city of Tel Aviv Jaffa and alt_name be the actual real life name of the road, or the other way around?

Re: Salame road name tag

The name should be what's written in the signs, alt_name can be used for this purpose.

Re: Salame road name tag

this page says "Names recorded in name=* tag are ones that are locally used", no local uses "שלמה".

The page also says "...especially ones typically signposted."
I think loc_name is the correct tag for Salame and the שלמה will be in the name tag.
