Nagasaki tramway fixes

Hello,

I visited Nagasaki on August 5-7 using OSM as my map, and as any good tourist I used the tramway network to move around. When doing so, I noticed that the mapping was quite inaccurate (there were some tram stops that did not exist any more, and others missing) but more importantly I found that the English names of many stations, both in the panels and in the on-board announcements, were radically different from the ones that were on the OSM map and that I had found in PDF maps that I had downloaded before the trip. It looked like there had been a broad renaming of stations, so I took a picture of the new panel with the new names at the Oura Cathedral stop and, after getting home, I started to fix the OSM data.

(Also, to be sure of what had happened, I checked again on the web and thanks to Google Translate I discovered this: http://www.naga-den.com/publics/index/579/ - so it is confirmed that a broad renaming of stations was done just a few days before my trip)

But before messing up, I would like to check that what I am doing is right, so here it is:

  • I am following the Japanese naming convention exposed here https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Multilingual_names#Japan ;
  • In the name fields in all languages/scripts, I will leave the old name of the renamed stops in parentheses after the new one, since most maps and guides you find online still have the old names, so there will be lots of people looking for the transfer stop 築町 (Tsuki-machi) which is now instead called 新地中華街 (Shinchi Chinatown in English), so I think both names should be there at least for some months, before the parentheses can be removed and the old values can be moved into old_name fields;
  • I am also adding public_transport=stop_position and tram=yes as per the most recent convention;
  • As the railway lines have been drawn as many different small stretches that share the end/starting point, I will try to join them into a single line per each tramway line, following the official lines and names as described here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagasaki_Electric_Tramway ; of course, I will have to break the lines for bridges;
  • Many stops and stretches have keys like source and KSJ2:* that I guess come from some automatic import. What should I do with them? Are they useful? Should I delete them if I modify the name or position of the stop, or if I join the stretch with another one?

This is an example of an already fixed stop: https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1424080338

Please let me know if what I am doing is ok, I don’t want to create more problems than I fix. And also if anyone could check the kanji and romanization after I finish… I only know the basics of Japanese, so I wouldn’t want to make mistakes.

Thanks!
