emergency=defibrillator

Das als Botschaft gemappt ist. :sunglasses:

https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/4578450297

x:emergency=defibrillator
fixme=Lage nur ungenau

I would like to revive this discussion, and continue in English, so that an international consensus can be reached on how to map this and a recommendation can be added to the wiki.

How to map a defibrillator with known location is obvious: just add a node for the device at its exact location. But what if its location is not know in detail? For instance it’s know that all OMV petrol stations in Bulgaria have a defibrillator, but the exact location of each of them is unknown? Do you

  1. add emergency=defibrillator to the amenity=fuel node (like @Dimitar155 did) so it’s clear that the petrol station has one, but its location at the station is unknown? Or

  2. do you add a separate node with emergency=defibrillator at a random location near the petrol station node (or inside the area)?

Advantage of 1. is that it’s at least known that there is a device somewhere at the station, but also shows (somewhat) that it’s not exactly clear where it is (i.e. better some info than no info).
Advantage of 2. is that if later the location becomes know exactly, it’s easy to move the node to that location (StreetComplete can do that, for instance). Disadvantage is that it might give the false impression that the exact location is known, and may lead to someone looking for it in a location where it isn’t and fail to look in a wider area (i.e. better no info than false info).

Maybe a building/amenity that has a defibrillator could be tagged with defibrillator=yes (suggested by @westnordost ) to indicate option 1. ? This tag is undocumented now.

FYI StreetComplete has quests that ask if a defibrillator is inside or outside a building (adding indoor=* ), and ask for a description of the location (adding defibrillator:location=*). This means that surveying defibrillator locations is becoming easier and more frequent.

StreetComplete could ask where the defibrillator is when it sees defibrillator=yes on a building or amenity (possibly showing all nearby defibrillators, in case there are any nearby). After adding a new node for it, or answering that it’s already mapped, defibrillator=yes can be changed to defibrillator=separate.

Alternatively, we can have a node inside the building with emergency=defibrilator + fixme=survey which would trigger StreetComplete.

Wie meinst Du das? Kannst Du ein Beispiel nennen?

Vermutlich:

(EN) I would strongly prefer the separate node, even if the exact position is not known. emergency=defibrillator should never be used on the building/area outline IMHO, as the building is not a defibrillator and it is no longer possible to clearly assign subtags (description, level etc.) to the corresponding feature.

The node should be placed at a position within the building/area that is most likely to serve as a “starting point” for the search, e.g. just behind the main entrance or at a porter/information desk, if there is one.

A defibrillator=yes then is not needed IMHO. Keep it simple!

Keep it simple!

Agreed :100: . Separate node with as emergency=defibrillator + fixme=find exact location (or similar) is much preferred.

Mapping it that way (beside all the benefits of following “One feature - One element”) has an additional benefit for advanced users of e.g. SCEE “Expert Edition” StreetComplete fork, in which that fixme will also trigger a quest allowing them to easily reposition the defibrillator node and solve the fixme.
