map imagery

hi…where to request for updating map imagery…the google has latest …while bing, OSM are still very*2 old…

Google pay lots of money for their imagery. OSM has to rely on public domain imagery (e.g from NASA) and businesses giving them a free licence to use imagery obtained for other purposes. Those businesses generally want to maintain a competitive advantage, so will not provide the best and most recent imagery for use by OSM.

Note that, although the term “satellite” is often used, most of the useful imagery is not NASA satellite imagery, but commercially obtained imagery from aircraft.

the best map imagery for OSM depends on which area on earth you want .
can you tell us ?

and the definition of “best” changes according to task.
Sometimes more resolution, or a good orthorectification process, is better than a more up to date imagery.
