New Ortophoto Imagery for Tel Aviv

Ortophoto is a company that provides satellite imagery to practically all branches of the Israeli government, both municipal and national. While we are not allowed to use Ortophoto imagery for tracing, I have found it to be immensely useful when trying to determine the general shape of a building from the low-res Bingsat, and for other mapping purposes.

iView, the Tel Aviv municipal GIS website, has just updated its imagery to 2017–the previous one was from 2015.

Hope you will find this helpful.

I haven’t yet checked Govmap and other municipal GIS services, but this update means that everyone should update soon if they haven’t already. Still, this update alone should provide material for hundreds of hours of work in mapping Tel Aviv.
