Hello
I want to generate map tiles that uses english/latinized text as much possible, instead of displaying a mix of scripts such as cyrillic, arabic, chinese et.c. which is the default for the OpenStreetMap style.
I know that significant work on internationalization has been carried out in the german map style.

My questions:
Has anyone already attempted to port internationalization back for the OpenStreetMap style?
If there’s no existing modified version I can use straight away I will try to modify the OpenStreetMap style. Can anyone here give some guidelines or advice on the edits that should be necessary?
