License: my route calculation on OSM data in a commercial product

Hello,

I have checked these sites:
   http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Lice … _Legal_FAQ
   http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Lice … Guidelines
   https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1.0/

and my understanding is that if I use OSM data as such (no modification) in a commercial product to calculate a route using my own algorithm, I don't need to share my algorithm.

The route calculation is not considered as a derivative work.

Is it correct?

Thank you
Joachim

The route will contain the coordinates of nodes in the OSM database, so I would say it was derivative.  Your algorithm would not be a derivative of the OSM data.
