Lane Guidance in UK (turn:lanes, destination tags)

Today it seems the UK OSM data appears to have a lack of lane assistance tags...
(In fact they are almost non-existent compared with Germany for example)

i.e. tags 'turn:lanes', 'destination' and 'destination:ref'

It means that drivers using OSM based sat-navs and similar smart-phone applications are at a disadvantage here in the UK.  There are rarely any arrows nor signs to indicate suggested lane choice at important junctions.
