double mapping?

Hello,

I'm relatively new to openstreetmap. Recently while travelling by train I was able to produce a gps track which I uploaded to openstreetmap. The railtrack was not mapped completely so I filled in the gaps. When I revisited the map some days later, there was a second railtrack running in parallel with mine - this was not there before and I assume that somebody has mapped exactly the same track as me. What shall I do now? Delete my track? Delete the other? Shall I contact the other mapper - and if yes - how?

thanks,
stephan

Re: double mapping?

Try to contact the other mapper. In potlach click on his way and hit "H" for history (takes some time sometimes). In the popup-window you can see who worked on that way/node. Visit his userpage (http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/<UserNameHere> and send him a message how to solve this problem.
