Garmin Nuvi 1450LM doesnt seem to see downloaded new map on sd

Hi, I have a trip to Europe (from Australia) in 2 weeks & wanted maps for Germany & Austria. Downloaded Germany map and copied gmapsupp.img to a sd card on my ancient Garmin Nuvi 250 and all appears to work ok. I can add an address to navigate to in Germany or Austria. Decided I should take my much newer Nuvi 1450LM instead & likewise copied gmapsupp.img to the microsd. With the 1450 when I try to navigate and select country, the only options I have are Australia & New Zealand, which are the maps on the device. When I go to View Map, minimise completely and navigate to Europe, I do seem to be able zoom down to road level. Any ideas ?

Did you place the map in the \garmin directory?
