Name display on downloaded maps
When I view China on the OpenStreetMap website like here http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/36.6468/116.9835 names appear in Chinese.
When I downloaded the Garmin Generic Routable map for China with Mapnik TYP file from here http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ the resultant map displays the Anglicized names in Roman letters.
Is there any way I can download the maps so that names appear in Chinese characters?
Thanks

Re: Name display on downloaded maps
No, that is not supported, maybe try another map provider:

Re: Name display on downloaded maps
As an adition to Ligfietser's comment:
The maps on garmin.openstreetmap.nl are targetted at an international audience and so I chose to use a Latin characterset and use international or transliterated names as much as possible.
For localized maps (e.g. maps in the many local languages found around the world) users should look for a local map provider. The link Ligfietser provides listst many of these local map providers.
