It has something to do with the license change: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Open … se_License

Re: What happened to GeoFabrik?
Lastest extract is from 9/13.
At least for me http://download.geofabrik.de/openstreetmap/europe/ is showing files dated today and yesterday ; hopefully the content is all right (I'm downloading biggish file at this very moment).
But for some odd reason if I try to "copy link location" from browser, then feed given URL to wget I'm getting a small html content file instead of the real big .osm.bz2 file that I'm trying to download. Same download works all right if done directly from browser.

Might be interesting what that html file actually says, I'd guess it is possibly an error message.
Are you aware that parallel downloads are limited?

Re: What happened to GeoFabrik?
Strange. "Copy link location" works for me (old Firefox).
By the way, you can also download from gwdg: ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetm … fabrik.de/ if you're interested in whole Germany or whole Europe.
