JOSM: Replace Building vs Update Building
I'm updating an existing building using an SVG that I imported into JOSM. I was able to scale the SVG and get it aligned, so far so good. This is both buildings in the same layer....
The problem is that I can't find a way to replace the way nodes for the existing building.
One option is I could manually duplicate the tags to create a new building and delete the existing building, I'm just not sure if that's a good practice.
Perhaps there's another way to update in JOSM that I'm missing that would allow me to replace the way nodes.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: JOSM: Replace Building vs Update Building
There is a function, replace geometry Ctrl-Sh-G that will do the job!

I agree with Martin, replace geometry as this maintains the history of the original object. This is easily done in JOSM but I don't know if it's possible with the iD editor.

Ah ha, perfect. That worked beautifully. Thank you both for the responses.
To anyone who stumbles upon this in the future. Replace Geometry is not available in the base JSOM installation. Install this plugin and it will become available in a new menu item called 'More Tools'
