Better Text-to-Speech Alternative for Osmand

Hey guys,

In case you are tired of the low quality Google TTS voice commands, here I found the perfect alternative. Russian guys ported the amazing Ivona Voice (occupied by Amazon) to android.

Here a user from XDA put everything together:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpo … stcount=39

Here is a link to all files you need:

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1hprxlymfudhl

In short:
Download your voice
Extract to: ../ivona

Download APK zip file, install APK (in my case only version c allow me to choose a directory)

Go to voice settings and choose Ivona, and apply the right directory. Ready.

Take a look into the manual, there's is everything described clearly.

Have fun :-)

Edit: I'm on Android 10/LOS17, works perfectly

Re: Better Text-to-Speech Alternative for Osmand

I'll vouch for Ivona.  Sultry, easy to understand, I'll do anything she says.  Also works well with Locus Map (surely the best map app on Android), with BRouter for bike- or hike-friendly routing.

Ivona is no longer available on Google Play (Amazon bought and killed her), but the .apk can still be found, and I assume the above instructions point to an instance of that voice.
