Hi! Im looking for boundary data (KML/SHP) for Malaysia. Not sure whats the most granular admin level (5-7?) available in OSM. Can someone help point me in the right direction to get this data? Thanks!
easiest way is to download the processed garmin map from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
you can extract the boundary from garmin IMG file, there are several shareware to manipulate
the IMG file, just google it
The most granular admin level for Malaysia, that’s on OSM is up to some districts in certain states which is level 6. But for admin level 4 - state boundaries - is already mapped (albeit roughly) in OSM.
This website offers exporting boundaries, mapped in OSM, as a shapefile.
