Leaky island

Hi all,

Pulau Ubin (http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=14/1.4089/103.9589) seems to be leaking. I’ve taken a look at it in the coastline inspector and in JOSM, but I’m not familiar enough with coastlines to know what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
Roland.

Given that it looks OK in OSMI, I suspect that there is actually no problem and it is just a question of the coastlines being updated on the rendering servers. See for example https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/276/why-do-the-changes-i-have-made-to-coastline-not-appear-on-the-map

That was my first thought, but the last edit was about two weeks ago - it doesn’t normally take that long, does it? At the bottom of your link it says coastlines are updated daily.

Coastlines are not necessarily updated on a daily basis, see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Coastline
The last update was on July 3 I think, see http://openstreetmapdata.com/data/land-polygons

BTW, I think the rendering matches the mapping at this moment, there are just a lot of water bodies mapped on the island.

I think kingrollo is referring to this post

… which was yesterday

the day before yesterday  I wrote this on July 5…

I think daily attempts are made, but that does not mean that they are updated on a daily basis. If the coastline is broken, no updates are done that day and another attempt is made the day after.

Actually, you might have a point there. Panic over! Thanks all.
