Nakaners Meinung zu HOT kennt man doch, daher ist der Ratgeber in dem Aspekt nicht wirklich als neutrale Informationsquelle zu gebrauchen.

OSM hat nicht das Ziel bis Ende des Monats einen vollständigen Datensatz der Welt zu enthalten.

Mich interessiert ja ernsthaft, wie die Ergebnisse außerhalb des deutschen Sprachraums aufgenommen werden. Denn in drei Kategorien haben Deutsche, in einer Schweizer und in einer ein Projekt mit deutschen Wurzeln gewonnen. Und die anderen Kategorie sind auch eher typisch deutsch. Anonymaps (der auch echt anonym ist) und auf Twitter allerhand OSM-Gossip verbreitet, kommentiert es ja schon echt heftig:

Please excuse the intrusion in a foreign language.
Now that State of the Map and the Awards are over, I would like to give some quick answers, reactions and personal thoughts in this thread.
Unfortunately I am not fluent enough in German, so please bear with my English.

naja, ich gehe ohnehin davon aus dass die "CraftMapper" ohnehin keine Chance haben, denn die Organisation, die in allen Kategorien gemeldet hat/ist, hat wohl ein ungeheueres Mobilisierungspotenzial.

That can apply to HOT (I would say between 5 and 9 related nominations, depending on how allergic you are to HOT).
Or to the German community (my personal estimation: between 5 and 7).
Or the English community (my personal estimation: between 8 and 9).
Or the Americans (my personal estimation: between 6 and 7).

warum ist beispielsweisp die Gruppe von Nicolas Chavent, die wohl auch gemeldet war, nicht auf der Liste zu finden ist?

Because noboby nominated them during the first round, if I recall correctly.

Die HOTties rufen jetzt auf ihrer Mailingliste schon dazu auf, für bestimmte Kandidaten zu stimmen.

Agreed, that was a very partial point of view.
Published as an OSM diary post in German, an OSM diary post translated in English, tweeted, included several times in this forum as posts or signature.
Included in WeeklyOSM, just next to the text about the OSM Awards and the link to vote, simply marked as 'presents his view point on the candidates'.
Included in Wochennotiz, just next to yet another call to the German community, with some derogatory terms 'wenn man es für Quatsch hält', marked only as 'stellt die Kandidaten vor'.
All that for a very partial point of view.

I am disgruntled.

The OSM awards with their categories were an attempt to celebrate the different faces of the OpenStreetMap project and community. In the end, we get a caricatural result where the winner is always the most technical or German.

Well naturally that just reflects the size of the largest identifiable segment of OSM (contributors from German speaking countries), on the other hand contributors from other countries did win their categories, and a number of the categories in which German speakers won were rather close calls.
