Chains as a mesurement in JOSM ?

Is there a way to tell JOSM to use chains, in addition to the existing 4 measurement systems ? All of the historical survey maps I have measured in chains.

(thought I posted this earlier, but it's not there now)

Re: Chains as a mesurement in JOSM ?

I have made changes to two JOSM code modules, and I believe this will add Gunter's Chain as a measurement unit.

Who/where do I speak to about adding this to the tree. I am not familiar with SVN.

TIA

Located the josm-dev mailing list, subscribed, and posted a message there asking where do I go from here.
