Create my own navigation system

Hi,

My name is Óscar and I am very interested in create my own navigation system, like Tom Tom navigator, using OpenStreetMap data.

My problem is that I have absolutely no idea about how to do it. I'm new on this kind of software.

Could you please tell me some kind of tutorial or web page where I can learn how to do it?

get familiar with OSM data structure via description in the OSM wiki ... see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org -> Elements ... or Software or Frameworks

Then there are several opensource routing apps available, see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Routing ... study its sourcecode to find out how each app works.

Why do you want to develop your own app when there are already several ones???
