The main problem here is not technical. Who can be owner? How is ownership acquired, verified and maintained? What can stop mappers from defining their own turf? What can stop other mappers from recreating objects that are wrong but is owned by someone else?
Currently, anyone can “adopt” an area or a particular kind of objects or a themed collection, and be the master by putting in the work and the expertise.
