Importação Itabira?

From the last changeset in the list
http://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=23128411
I’ve arrived at the changeset
https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/23128027
by zeninguem, several ways I’ve analysed, e.g.
http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/289598702/history
http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/289598761
are identical to Tracksource map version 12.1 (Jan 2012).

¿Have discarded the possibility that this user is the author of the data and is collaborating in both projects?

Unless he traced everything exclusively from his own GPX tracks, the data is illegal. Not even Bing can be used to trace for Tracksource and then imported in OSM.
Or he is lying when he says that he is using Bing in OSM (like in his changeset comments: “Desenhos com base no BING SAT e levantamentos pessoais”) or he is illegal when he used Bing without a proper permission to trace it for Tracksource.

The user zeninguem never answered any messages I’ve send, and as naoliv pointed out his comments do not explain why his data is identical do Tracksource’s.

Anyway, its time for everybody do realize that it is impossible to use data from Tracksource in OSM in any form. First because it is almost impossible to reconcile legal issues between Tracksource and OSM. Second, because even if it is legitimate data by the user himself, it will always been identical do what is in the Tracksource database and can, and probably will, be questioned.

The only way former Tracksource members can bring their previous contributions to OSM is by adding their GPS traces to the database and by redrawing the map from scratch according to OSM rules (which are very different from Tracksource’s). They can of course add names and POIs from their own annotations as long as those were not taken from other maps.

PS: we switched to English so that the DWG can follow the discussion.

I really would like to see an answer for things like this: http://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=27383424
How can somebody trace something using MapBox and don’t see that it’s messy?
The only explanation for this (and other changesets) is that he imported data.
The use of “Bing”, “MapBox” and variations in source is just to disguise the origin of the data.
Most of his changeset comments are misleading.

Another example: zeninguem traces some data here http://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=23008335 using Bing (it’s what he says at his changeset). He traced it at 2014-06-18 13:09.
Then, at 2014-06-18 13:22 Genulpho fixes the same data using Bing again http://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=23008544

So Bing changed their imagery in less than 13 minutes? The data was realigned in the second edit.
It’s evident that one account did a clearly misaligned import and then, a second account (from the same person probably) realigned the data shortly after.

It could have been coincidental, but there are too many coincidence between these two users, they map in the exactly same areas, comments with exactly the same lingual errors, and correct each other too rapidly to be noticed in any sensible way.

A way to check up the data is, if it is fresh enough compare it with Bing and MapBox images, and of course TrackSource, to see how much they align or misalign.

Having a look at some area zeninguem have edited in JOSM ( open https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/-20.568747/-43.812194 ) I notice that these edits are not within MapBox coverage, and the road he added are not present in Bing. Further he have added a lot of strange turning restrictions, in a way that I suspect that the data are imported from TrackSource (unnecessary no_u_turn and no_left_turn), he have also separated the lanes of BR-040 without updating the relation.

Actually looking at GPX-traces and Bing of the area, there are a lot of data that could be added. Close to this intersection there are residential roads that need to be mapped, and it looks like the entire length of BR-040 in this region could be duplicated (separate the northbound and southbound lane).

A question should be raised of what source zeninguem have for this data. It certainly is not Bing or MapBox, and if it is from GPS, than traces have not been shared with the community.

There is a trace that goes from Bom Jesus do Amparo to Senhora do Carmo crossing *Ipoema *(map, but you gotta use JOSM to see it).
Neverthless the road was reverted. Not cool…

Data is being redacted/reverted by DWG.

Phew! I’m already feeling better now… Thank you, Nelson!
