Hi guys,

I am a Czech OSM mapper and I used your Osmapa.pl map because I liked the rendering style for hiking in my country. About few weeks ago I realized the map was unavailable for couple of days and now it renders Poland only instead of kind of whole Europe area as it used to render before. Is this a new policy of yours? Did you have too much traffic or what is the reason for this change?

I guess the Osmapa.pl Mapnik style is available for use, but I am not that far to be able to render the map myself on my own server... I liked to use Osmapa.pl for Czech area a lot... Do you maybe have a static tile save (backup) before you made the big Europe map offline? Maybe for use with OsmAnd in .sqlitedb format?

In response to my post on Help site (http://help.openstreetmap.org/questions … a-solution) I would like to work on better relations viewing. Can someone give a hint where to start?

I think it is time to think about some ways of protecting the map date that were collected so far. I heard my local fellows complaining about someone deleting a part of administrative boundary by mistake. If not lock, then some kind of flag should be used that would allow easier filtering of "important" content.

I think it is pitty not to link to this forum. Now the link is accessible in the bottom of wiki main page, which is not very prominent location. A bug regarding osm.org should be filled in trac I guess.

Administrative boundaries that are rendered in default mapnik layer are disturbing and ugly. They interfere with roads and ways and make the overall map-reading experience a nightmare. Do we really need them? No major mapping service like Google Maps, Bing or Yahoo Maps uses such a feature in default view. I really do not see any particular benefit to have these boundaries displayed in such visibility as they are now. Lets hide them from the default render on openstreetmap.org.

Although there are the language forums, the forum is generally way too simple. What about to grow the structure a bit, maybe creating some subforums in Q&A forum, forums for editors (JOSM etc.) would be nice too...
