Boundaries of the netherlands

Hi,

yesterday someone changed the admin levels of Aruba, Curacao and Saint Martins from 3 to 2. That means, he changed them from parts of NL to autonome countries.
see https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/EzekielT/history#map=2/-15.4/-6.6

I think, that is totally wrong. Or have there been any legal changes, i don’t know about?

Regards
walter/germany

btw: i can revert those changes if i should do.

This user has also added roads on Antartica tagged as motorway and named “Footway”… his 82 changesets need careful review I would suggest…

  • snip-

at first i would like to revert the boundaries. ok?

walter

DONE.

Yes, please go ahead with your revert.

With regard to the specific issue of Netherlands boundaries, I’ve said this:

Am I the only one who thinks it strange that international admin boundaries are being discussed so intensively on a German forum?

No, that’s not strange - it’s just historic. May be, it’s better i switch to the international forum?

But which one? “Questions and Answers” is for newbies, i think. The other one could be “General Chat” - not very good too. any suggestions?

user “SomeoneElse” reverted all CS of that user, i think.

Hi wambacher,

Curaçao is an autonomous island that is part of the Netherlands. In 10-10 2010 the Netherlands Antilles ceased to exist and address desciption of Curacao changed.

It used to be like this Street name + number, Willemstad, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles.

But after 10-10-2010 it became like this

Streetname + number, Willemstad, Curacao

However, for some reason in OSM Curacao is seen as NL. This is not correct. The Nominitem Geocoder shows 12.126031,-68.890388 as Van Engelenweg, Willemstad, 0000AA, NL.

This is definitely not right. We have no zip code here in Curaçao and NL should be CW.

Is there a way to change this?
