Obliterated city streets

Is there any interest (other than my own) in mapping completely obliterated city streets: either portions of the grid that have been taken over by multi-block developments, or diagonals that predate the grid and still survive in pieces? (Example: old Stuyvesant Street on http://www.historicmapworks.com/Map/US/60920/29++E14th+St+++Ave++B++E9th+St+++Second+Ave/New+York+City+1909+Vol+1+Revised+1915/New+York/, still present west of Second Avenue and visible elsewhere in lot and building lines.) If so, how should they be marked?
