Running Android apps on a x86-Desktop PC

Hi,

If you don't own an Android device but you want to know how Android apps look and feel, especially the OSM related ones for map display or even navigation, there are several possibilities to start Android on a normal PC.

A first overview and instructions has been started here:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk … Desktop_PC

Feel free to edit wrong facts or add new possibilities there in the wiki for exploring the Android world and OSM.

Contributions are welcome!

Stephan

Update: new release of android-x86 2.2-r2 on 28-06-2011 ... are there now any more apps that can be run in that emulator?

Nice! It is also a good way to test if Android will fit you or you need other mobile platform.
