When are tiles rendered by Mapnik?

This brocken waterway http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=47.91616&lon=5.99519&zoom=17&layers=M is a clear hint that one of this adjoining tiles isn’t render since end of August when I changed the waterway. I though this should have been done long ago. I’ve seen this on serveral different locations. So when can I expect tiles to be rendered after something has changed?

I’ve once red that setting the dirty bit enforces a rendering. How do I set the dirty bit in Potlatch or Potlatch2?

Is there anywhere visible when a defined tile is rendered the last time.

What’s wrong there? Looks fine to me.

looks fine to me, also …

any more answers at http://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/178/how-often-does-the-main-mapnik-map-get-updated ? (look for “dirty”)

Now it’s fine. That means the tile was updated between this and my first post, while it wasn’t for more than a month before. Is there a way to see when a distict tile was rendered?

Thanks, very interesting. That means a tile essentially just has to be viewed when the rendering queue isn’t filled up.

Copy the tile url and append /status to it.

Like this: http://b.tile.openstreetmap.org/17/67718/45608.png/status

There’s another mistery tile, see http://www.orpatec.ch/osm/tools/main.php?lat=48.98706&lon=5.47159&zoom=17 and click on the tile on the map. The tiles are reported clean but the way isn’t correct. What is wrong?
