Boundary Stones - histoic

I am new to this but think I’m getting on ok. I would like to map some Boundary Stones - historic stones which used to mark the boundary between civil parish’s, etc. but cannot find a specific tag on the Map Features, Features or elsewhere.

Should I go down the historic>User Defined route? Any advice would be appreciated.

Checking OSMdoc and XAPI, historic=boundary_stone is already fairly well used, and its available in JOSM as a preset. http://osmdoc.com/en/tag/historic/

There’s also a few uses of historic=stone (plus extra tags to describe what it is and its name etc).

Then there are of course boundary markers/stones that are still in use, and in no way historic, although they may be old.

I’ve personally used boundary=marker for those nodes.
