I found this diy camera http://www.diy-streetview.com/krpano-player-database-leaflet/ which lets you take panorama pics and have a streetview-like service.
What’s nice about it is the possibility to reduce the camera price (an indigogo project could try sketch it) and let anyone create a streeview.
The diy-streetview camera costs 15k euros but a crowdfounded one could allow 1.3 mpx cameras (educational/hobby purpose) and 41 mpx ones with price tags starting from 300 euros like the http://spectrum.ieee.org/geek-life/hands-on/diy-streetview-camera/0 or a multi k euros one like the hd bing maps’ ones.
I never heard about it before but noticed it is from 2012.
Do you think osm will consider this ?
