osmosis- mysql initialization

Hi,
Where can I find the SQL version for creating and initializing databases, Osmosis version I'm using is 0.40.1
I couldn't find scripts for initializing MySQL, all the scripts in are for postgresql  in "osmosis-0.40.1/script" folder.

Are there any reasons why you have to use MySQL instead of the popular PostgreSQL?
