Where can I find the data for Australia map?

Hello there!
Where can I find the data for Australia map?
I need the basic layers (roads,landuse,rivers and other) divided by locations.

P.S> I need just Northern Territory (Alice Springs city)

You can grab the raw Alice Springs osm from here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/export?lat=-23.7365&lon=133.9097&zoom=12&layers=M
Then, select “OpenStreetMap XML Data”
Adjust the selection if necessary
Hit the “Export” button and you’ve got it.

Once you have this file, you can mangle it whichever way you like with other tools, such as JOSM http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM

  • Just tell JOSM to open up the osm file, and it’s all yours.
    If you do mangle up that osm file in JOSM, please DO NOT push the upload button and upload your mangled changes to openstreetmap’s server.

Note that it’s also possible to download areas straight from JOSM.
