The rebuild of the OSM database for the licence change is still pending
http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermai … 00228.html
Last call to check your area for data that will be lost
One nice tool for the check is http://cleanmap.poole.ch/
Hello,
did the database cleanup for the licence change already start ?
Do you already know MapOSMaotic (http://www.maposmatic.org/) ?
MapOSMatic allows you to create maps for cities with additional street index information
Information about the new release can be found on http://news.maposmatic.org/?p=420
Examples required ?
Find a map of downtown Calgary on http://www.maposmatic.org/jobs/43152 or a map of Rundle on http://www.maposmatic.org/jobs/45255
GeoCoder.ca (http://geocoder.ca/)is offering the "Canadian Postal Code Geocoded Database".
The data in this database has been crowdsourced and is published under the "Open Database License (ODbL)"
Now Canada Post sued GeoCoder.ca
For more details see http://geocoder.ca/?sued=1 (scroll down to bottom to see the whole file)
Find some comments on this case in the Blog of Michael Geist http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/6415/125/
Hello,
OSRM allows now worldwide routing.
This includes of course now Canada. Now it is time to add also data for routing purpose:
- one way restrictions
- turn restrictions
- connect ways properly
Have a look on http://map.project-osrm.org/
Have fun mapping
High,
I've seen lots of footways not been connected to the rest of the world.
See for example the bridge near Chinook Mall http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50.99 … 8&layers=M
This will not allow routing for pedestrians using OSM data.
Maybe we can improve such things by connecting also these ways.
Have fun mapping
