The mapping party was a great success of working and meeting each other experience. We started from 10am until 3pm(time when the database became offline due to server maintenance scheduled). We even had remote help from Peru via Skype :-)

We did map all the MRT 'subway entrances' and numbering them as well as indicanting their wheelchair access and created relationships within their station node -> http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/444659

Same goes for 50% of the BTS line.

TODO :
BTR  line
Airport Link
Bangkok river piers numbering

Thanks for all the contributors and see you next time :-)

No problem Paul, we'll commit before 15:00 and if we keep working after we will save it in a JOSM file.

@terawat, you are welcome to come.

Hi,

I'm wondering about how should we map underground/skytrain station? Currently we have only "Railway Station" object.

Moreover, if that station has more than 1 exit across the area, how should we map it?

For example, MRT Suttisarn Station (สุทธิสาร) is mapped with "Railway Station" http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=13.78 … 8&layers=M and it has 4 exits across the Suttisarn Junction.

Thank you,
Keng.

Here is an example of the Metro of Madrid in Spain, it's done trough relationships.

you can define subway stops and subway entrances, also you can have diferent lines of the subway or skytrain (for example Sukhumvit Line and SiLom line). If you need a hand I can help you out doing that for Bangkok.

Hi, I'm user of Osmand for Android devices and I sent them a request to include
http://thaimap.osm-tools.org

as part of their map sources list, since the mapnik source is all in Thai names only.
http://code.google.com/p/osmand/issues/detail?id=941

If somebody wants to that github push before me go ahead, otherwise I'll report here when it's done.

Best Regards.
Ivan.

Hello everybody I am an old mapper (Ho Chi Minh city mainly) but now I'm going to leave for 6months in Bangkok and I am interested in meeting the OSM fans around here, I did contacted already some of the most active members trough personal email and they invited me to present myself here.

Any of you is up for a humble (not fancy dinner) meetup in Bangkok this month? We can exchange experiences and tips about mapping, and maybe organize a mapping party for the future.

I hope somebody is interested,

Best Regards.
Ivan.
